Overview

Today, contacts are very important for career building. In other words: start networking! The “Networking CD-Rom” contains an interactive tool to visualize the increase of the user’s network. It is possible to include addresses, aims and ways. Each type of network is colored different and each has its own icon.

Visionary it is aimed to build an Internet application for the networking tool. The Internet provides us with much more possibilities than a stand-alone application, for example enhanced user interaction, direct advertising possibilities for universities, trainees and companies. We also aim at the integration with networking platforms in Europe and the United States. We are planning to connect our tool to the backend of XING (formerly known as OpenBC) and the american networking platform LinkedIn. We want to enable the user, to visualize the growth of his network, without the neccessity to maintain more than one data source. The networking tool will be available online as well as an desktop application, with the possibility to integrate parts of it, as online widgets into websites.
